Igor Buszkowski
Bass guitarist, composer, educator, visual artist
Igor Buszkowski creates music where the bass guitar breaks free from its traditional role. In his compositions, the bass transforms into electric guitar, trumpet, flute, or synth, building multi-layered, cinematic soundscapes that blend jazz, folk, rock, and classical.
Music
He launched his solo project „Igor Buszkowski na Żywo” in 2019 and has released two albums:
- „Uchylam drzwi” 2021 – 12 instrumental tracks, 50+ minutes of music. Promoted with six music videos.
- „Podmuch” 2025 – 10 tracks, five featuring voice and lyrics, while keeping an atmospheric, instrumental focus.
He performs solo and as a duo with voice performer Zofia Bartoszewicz-Buszkowska.
Previously, he co-founded bands including Buzu Squat, Jak Wolność to Wolność, Róże Europy, Projekt Elektryczny, and the Belarusian group Uria. He contributed to the soundtrack of Jerzy Zalewski’s film „Gnoje”, based on Andrzej Stasiuk’s novel „Biały kruk”.
Theatre & Film
He composed music for Adam Gąsecki’s stage productions: „Splecione” 2022, „Mądre ciało” 2024, and „404: LOS NOT FOUND” 2025.
Visual Arts
He creates installations and paintings that walk the line between high art and bold kitsch, often incorporating thread and recycled objects. He has exhibited in Poland and abroad, with works held in private collections in Poland, the UK, Germany, and France.
Education
He hosted an art segment on „Budzik” TVP1 / TVP ABC and contributed to Polish educational magazines for teachers. He has authored over 20 children’s books. In 2020, through the „Kultura w sieci” program, he produced a series of step-by-step art videos for preschoolers.
